2020 Overland Skills Weekends

ECOA will be offering four Overland Skills Weekend events each focusing on a particular set of skills necessary for a successful overland adventure.

Each weekend will feature multiple high quality hands-on experientially driven sessions.  These sessions will cover the topics in a pragmatic sequential manner that will meet overland adventure enthusiasts of any skill level where they are at and rise them up over the course of the weekend.

Attendees will receive Blue Ridge Overland Gear bag themed to the weekend's topic as well as a patch, sticker, and event shirt unique to each weekend.

Primitive camping will be available onsite.  Attendees will be given opportunities for question and answer sessions around the communal campfire Friday and Saturday nights.  A chance to explore James River State Park and the surrounding area will be available on Sunday.

These skills events are rain or shine and attendees are expected to come prepared for a day outdoors in the elements.  Gloves and closed toed shoes are recommended.

COVID-19 Update: Due to quarantine protocols OSW's 1, 2, & 3 have been canceled.  The September class is still on (as of right now).  There is potential to expand that weekend to cover more topics, or have another training event in October or November (weather permitting).  Current registrations can either be applied to the September class or fully refunded by request.
